Heavy Duty Mechanic

 

Det’on Cho Construction LP is recruiting for a Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our vibrant team.  Reporting to the Construction Manager, the Heavy Duty Mechanic will be responsible for repairing heavy equipment in a safe, environmentally friendly, and cost-effective manner to ensure equipment availability is maximized.

 

The position will include, but will not be limited to the following:


Key Roles and Responsibilities:


  • Perform heavy equipment repairs within planned time frames and without compromising the integrity of the equipment
  • Perform repairs in a cost-effective, safe, and environmentally friendly manner to maximize equipment availability
  • Complete work orders and document work progress
  • Keep work areas clean and free of safety hazards on a continuous basis
  • Adhere to all safety and environmental rules
  • May be required to develop junior team members and apprentices


Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must have a:

  • must have a journeyperson certification as a Heavy Duty Mechanic. Interprovincial certification
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience.
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License and a Clean Drivers Abstract
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to work as a team member
  • Standard First Aid Certificate with CPR is an asset.
