Det’on Cho Management LP is the economic arm of the Yellowknives Dene First Nation. We are currently accepting resumes in many different areas to build the Membership database to assist members gain employment within Det’on Cho Management LP and its Group of Companies.
This is an expression of interest to help build a better knowledge of the Yellowknives Dene workforce. However there are no current vacant positions at this time, we foresee that there may be some opportunities in the future.
Expression of Interest - Heavy Duty Mechanic
The position will include, but will not be limited to the following: Key Roles and Responsibilities: • Perform heavy equipment repairs within planned time frames and without compromising the integrity of the equipment • Perform repairs in a cost-effective, safe, and environmentally friendly manner to maximize equipment availability • Complete work orders and document work progress • Keep work areas clean and free of safety hazards on a continuous basis • Adhere to all safety and environmental rules • May be required to develop junior team members and apprentices
Qualifications: The ideal candidate must have a: • Journeyperson Certification as a Heavy Duty Mechanic (Interprovincial certification is preferred) • Welding experience and / or certification is considered an asset • Minimum of five (5) years of heavy duty mechanic experience. • Standard First Aid Certificate with CPR is an asset.
